Vitamin D UV Light Therapy

Vital Wellness Center offers up to 15 minute sessions in Dr. Mercola’s specialized light bed which was designed by his team to give you the second best way to optimize your very important vitamin D levels. Our light bed is endorsed by the Vitamin D Counsel and includes both UVB rays, which aid your body in producing vitamin D, and UVA rays, which help your body refrain from burn and help to moderate your vitamin D so as not to produce too much of the vitamin D. In addition to both UVB and UVA rays, our light bed also includes health inducing infrared, blue and red lights. Benefits of the various lights included in this therapy include:

  • Vitamin D production
  • Skin rejuvenation
  • Increased collagen in skin giving a more firm appearance
  • Temporary relief from pain and stiffness
  • Increase blood flow and circulation
  • Kick-start metabolism

Vitamin D UV Light Therapy: Way Cooler Than a Tanning Bed

Our main purpose in offering this light therapy bed is to aid in the production of vitamin D. Why is vitamin D such a big deal you ask? Well, some of the highlights of vitamin D’s role in your body can be seen in the following list of observed benefits of optimal vitamin D levels:

  • Reduced risk of chronic disease, cancer, depression, dementia and more
  • Reduction in risk of cardiovascular diseases
  • Improvements in cases of diabetes
  • Improvements in cholesterol
  • Increased metabolic function
  • DNA repair
  • Reduction in pain
  • Quicker immune response – lessening of severity or quantity of cold/flu symptoms
  • Improvement in mental clarity
  • Improvement in skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema
  • Improved athletic performance

Another significant feature of our light therapy bed is that the system is run on electronic ballasts. Tanning beds typically run on magnetic ballasts which are sources of Electro Magnetic Fields which may be harmful to your health. Electronic ballasts, however, virtually eliminate this risk.

Infrared Sauna

An infrared sauna uses infrared rays that are similar to those given off by the sun. Infrared rays are invisible light rays that are able to penetrate the skin more deeply than traditional saunas to activate the sweat glands and cause the body to eliminate toxins. Infrared waves have the ability to penetrate up to two inches into your body and cause water molecules (the cells in our body) to vibrate and free up toxins to be released through the skin. Traditional saunas use their energy to heat the air to eventually heat the body from the outside while infrared saunas only use 20% of their energy to heat the air and the rest heats the internal body directly.

What is an Infrared Sauna and How is it Different from a Traditional Sauna?

Benefits of Infrared Sauna Therapy Include:

  • Removal of toxins from the body
  • Immune system boost
  • Decrease in blood pressure
  • Relief from pain
  • Increased metabolism, weight loss
  • Relaxation, stress reduction
  • Improvement in skin appearance

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a form of therapy designed to make more oxygen available to the body. Oxygen is the primary source of energy required by the body for the proper operation of all major systems. Oxygen feeds the body, supports the immune system, destroys toxic substances, and promotes new cell growth. Increasing the uptake of oxygen enhances those processes. HBOT safely increases the body’s oxygen uptake by raising the barometric pressure. The therapy is performed in an enclosed hyperbaric chamber that is pressurized to allow the patient inside to experience atmospheric pressures greater than typical environmental pressures.

HBOT has been shown to be effective for:

  • Acne
  • Allergies
  • Altitude sickness
  • Alzheimer’s
